I discovered forest school as a new passion about 5 years ago and since then have been facilitating forest school for children as a social practice and community engagement strategy. My friend and I co-created Kootenay Forest School (https://www.instagram.com/kootenayforestschool/) hosted on the unceded, ancestral, traditional tum’xula7xw territory of the Sinixt people in various locations throughout what is now known as the Kootenay’s. This work has been extremely fulfilling and one day I would like to create a summer camp/artist residency where kids and artists are able to explore and work together to create art and harmony living in or close to nature.
